Feminist artist and engaged in political and humanitarian causes such as racism and AIDS, she has created huge sculptures of women.
Her «Empress» will serve as her residence in her famous «Garden of the Tarots», a major work of her art, a true esoteric city she built in Italy. Her goddesses, her witches, her warriors, all her «Nanas» are the daughters, the wives and the mothers born of her imagination in the ‘50s.
The work of Niki de Saint Phalle touches our collective unconscious far beyond all of our emotions, from fear to fascination, from derision to joy.
