MIKE MAK
Mike Mak is one shining example. Born in Hong Kong, where he currently lives and works, this graduate of the Polytechnic University was awarded
the Hong Kong Young Design Talent in 2013. Here he presents
his ceramic sculptures that take Chinese calligraphy
to express the meaning of shape with poetic subtlety.
Thus, his «Moon reach ladder» consists of an ideogram meaning «closer to the moon» ...
His vase talks about flowers deposited within their two Chinese letters.
Graphics and sober forms draw with extreme purity a gallery of poems in the tradition of Chinese culture, but in a very contemporary style.
