In the Netherlands, the bicycle is queen, the distances are short and flat, the scenic landscapes, mild climate, and with all the ingredients for wonderful stretches of cycling.
In its sports version, the Tour de France will start in Utrecht this year on Saturday, July 4th. The «Great Start» on 14 km will run along a part of the city. This first stage will precede one day before the real start of the race. The second stage will see the peloton cycling through the streets of the old town, along the canals to the heart of the Delta of Zeeland (166 Km).
