It was not until 1780 that the buttons became objects of seduction in the female fashion.
Smaller and more modest than for the men, they parent with refinement the boots, gloves,
underwear and even garters.
For men, around 1850, the habit became more sober and buttons remained the only audacity of this understated elegance.That’s when they finally seized the female wardrobe.
