Woman of head and of heart, Li Chevalier charges with talent her humanistic and aesthetic battle. She unites in her soul of traveler and hermit this humility full of strength and gentleness between Zen and Schopenhauer.
From her young career as opera singer of the Red Army, she kept musicality and infinite emotion of her touch on the canvas that she makes vibrate in a poetic dance of ink mingled with ecstatic and contemplative tears.
Graduate of Sciences Po in Paris, of philosophy at the Sorbonne, of the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and bathed in Renaissance Italy, Li Chevalier is in search of unity.
Between East and West, she weaves her way throughout her works and spills ink into a stream of life full of vigor, and peace.
Musician, she touches with the bowing of her brush the heartstrings of the invisible. Her paper of rice, quartz and acrylic welcomes her inks as a living source to keep the gentle drawing like a flower on the skin.
Her paintings, beyond their questions about the destiny of man facing a reality without sense, bring closer the souls in a soft murmur of hope that finds its place in the heart of divine beauty in the simplicity of its eternity.
