Founded in 1854, the luxury house, Louis Vuitton, designer of the irst trunk lat, made in order to better meet the requirements of practicality, comfort and elegance of travelers, installed its factory - workshops in Asnieres in 1859.
Along the Seine, this place was strategic at that time for the delivery of poplar wood by the river, principal raw material of its achievements. The presence of the very irst railway, with its terminus at the Gare Saint Lazare, had a stop at Asnieres as well.
