Since the ‘50s, the design concept permeates Danish culture, with simplicity and functionalism and a balance between practicality and casual aesthetic. During this time, furniture is starting to adapt to the human body and the quality still improving thanks to the skills of its cabinetmakers. A generation of outstanding architects, Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, Børge Mogensen, Verner Panton,Hans Wegner... draw the icons of Danish furniture. These chairs, buffets, tables are today reedited successfully.
Copenhaguen is full of boutiques and antique shops in the town center and in the districts of Vesterbro and Nørrebro, but the design and creativity are everywhere and a new wave of young designers starting to emerge.
At bike, nose to the wind, visitors discover the best cycling city in the world. They go around and throughout the docks and on its charming streets filled with fashion and interior design boutiques but also art galleries, cafés and friendly restaurants.
