From his chaotic childhood between Lebanon and Paris, Didier Le Grand followed his route on the thread of his soul. His creative visceral need to express his sensitive and offbeat universe led him to explore many disciplines but always with this deep desire to be the revealer of the beings he meets by designing for each a unique creation.
He ended his experience of haute couture by dressing the Venus de Milo to the 10th anniversary of the Louvre Pyramid.
His years «Melancholy» led him to Kuala Lumpur for this photographic exhibition before starting a psychoanalytic exploration.
His works are intimately connected with his life and brings him to wonder more deeply on the inner world of his peers.
His creations become quests of individual or collective psyche to create more or less conscious emotions, messages and establish real connections between places and beings that live there or spend time as spectators.
Photographer, designer, architect, Didier Le Grand is fascinated by the world of the image beyond its appearance in its true essence. Thus he imagines symbolic works of inner light and of an intense spiritual connection.
His project «Sun in Majesty» for the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles speak of this intimate connection between solar roots of the absolute monarch and the infinite sun in its eternal race. Didier Le Grand imagined this glass fireball into a Murano glass blown by the Venetians «Barovier and Toso» that existed from 1295 and which was manufactured at the request of the King with the so famous ornaments of this mythical place.
Flaming and glowing, this would be that star that seems to fall from the sky as it is a reflection of the essence of the Sun King. Red as the blood of these Italian workers killed by their countrymen under the charge of high treason because they had agreed to join the court of France and deliver their expertise to Colbert.
