Picasso is going to shake him up, opening his soul to novelty forever, snatching his last visual and artistic barriers by giving him the impression of «chewing crushed glass,» Chtchoukine dives and will consume his art to madness.
His passion became even more devouring in 1905, when his wife died and the suicide of two of his sons. These personal tragedies led him to immerse himself completely in his collection with com- pulsive purchasing fever.
Refugee in Germany in 1918, he must abandon his beloved palace hoping secretly to see it transformed one day into a museum and it is in France that he will finish his life and find his last home.
The exhibition is stunning with emotions. It gives the space to French works with internationally famous signatures alongside thirty works by major artists of the Russian avant-garde.
The 21st century could not have existed without the art and passion of such precursors.
This magnificent tribute demonstrates and proves the value of such a legacy.
