DESIGN TOWN
ALESSANDRA CENNA
Magnificent Flemish city, two hours from Paris, Ghent is not only a city of façades and attractions, but also one of the most beautiful surprises of Europe. This destination is rich in history, thanks to its prosperous medieval past linked to the wool trade, which earned it the small name of Manhattan of the Middle Ages.
Its streets are cheerful and colorful, lined with cafes, small houses of red brick epochs, majestic churches and a famous row of towers, the unforget- table pictures of postcards. The picturesque facades of the 12th to the 17th centuries, typical of the guilds, alternate with newer neo-gothic buildings erected during its powerful period of industrial city.
