Near Verona, Mantua and Lake Garda, on the edge of Veneto, the medieval village of Valeggio is an ideal stopover to spend a day on the bank of the Mincio River discovering an unusual Italy.
The Sigurtà Park, an incredible green treasure, is worth a detour for a wonderful walk in its gentle hills.
From its creation in 1407 during the Venetian domination, until its ope- ning to the public in 1978, this superb space can be visited according to the seasons on foot, by small train, by bicycle or by golf car.
The park is adorned with all the hues of its generous blooms in spring until the warm colors of autumn.
It is sweet to let yourself be lulled by legendary stories as numerous as the petals of the most beautiful corollas. In its beds, the tulip, favorite flower of the Ottoman Empire and emblem of Iran, accompanies the rose, queen of flowers. As for the iris, its beauty perfectly embodies the goddess of the same name who rode the rainbows.
