Her committed avant-garde feminist and ecological message left more than 100 works as gifts, including sculptures, drawings, videos, photographs between the ‘60s and ‘90s, some of which were never before seen and never presented to the public.
The generosity of collectors with the collaboration of the Il Giardino dei Tarocchi Foundation, the Niki Charitable Art Foundation and the Fondazione Capalbio have finally made possible this important project to present to the public this work as beautiful as it is colossal.This dream come true is living proof of the creative force of this visionary artist in matters of women’s rights, African Americans and ecological thinking on climate change.
Passionate about her commitments, she believed deeply in the human capacity for innovation and reinvention. She would surely have seen the current crisis as a necessary collective awakening to open a new path against the arrogance and aggressiveness of the political, economic and financial systems.
Like most of her works, the garden is the manifestation of a microcosm capable of revealing the deepest and most secret archetypal images of our unconscious.
