The exhibit showcases favorite characters from Potter’s stories along with the real-life inspirations behind the tales. Thus, the dollhouse built by her publisher and future fiancé Norman Warne, is at the origin of “The Tale of Two Bad Mice”. “The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher” was born from the universe of Randolph Caldecott, as were his original sketches of gardens and landscapes for “The Tale of Benjamin Bunny” and “The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy Winkle».
Beatrix Potter glorified nature in the most delicate pictorial poetry and she also spent the last 30 years of her busy life protecting the lands of her beloved Lake District.
A tale that took its roots in a story by love and by nature, a tenderness that cannot cease
to delight and charm at any age...
