After almost two years of extensive construction work, the private museum of Heidi Goëss-Horten (1941-2022) has opened in down- town Vienna.
The former building of the archducal chancellery has been transformed into a contemporary museum with an ambitious design.
Heidi Goëss-Horten imagined this place to share her pleasure in art as a sensory discovery.
Her vast collection of masterpieces ranging from classical modernism to Pop Art and contemporary art is thus on display to the general public.
Beyond her recent death, she still actively participates in the cultural future of her hometown and joins a long line of female collectors.
