Much of Lee’s work was found thanks to Suzanna, wife of Anthony Pen- rose. More than 60,000 images, letters, negatives, abandoned in an attic, attest to the passionate life of this independent and brilliant artist.
The course of the Venetian exhibition, chronological and thematic, retraces the stages of its tumultuous existence between secret shots and famous shots.
The visitor thus discovers the intensity of the Roaring Twenties in Paris, a mee- ting point of fashion, literature and the arts between the two wars and at the same time the horrors of belligerence.
At the heart of the exhibition vibrates her relationship to tears with Man Ray.
In anticipation of the release next year of the film «Lee Miller» by Ellen Kuras, with Kate Winslet who will play the photographer, this exhibition finally does her justice.
A beautiful and talented woman,
she spreads her sunshine far from the shadow of Man Ray and finally receives the laurels she deserves.
