Two hundred years after her death, the name and artistic heritage of Rosa Bonheur are still little known to the general public.
This magnificent exhibition, which follows the one in her hometown recently organized by the Museum of Fine Arts in Bordeaux, is the best opportunity to disseminate her works and restore her notoriety known during the Second Empire. Her landscapes, her dignified animals, lions, deer, the kings of the forest, fix the spectators with eloquent eyes to communicate their moods, their psychology.
They forever transmit all the love that Rosa had for them.
Rosa Bonheur was able to show them in their singularity and their splendor without ever trying to humanize them and their eyes are forever imbued with this deep mutual respect.
