The Milanese exhibition “Dal cuore alle mani: Dolce & Gabbana” (From the heart to the hands), dedicated to the two Italian designers, is a real journey into the sources of inspiration and imagination of the House.
First stop before an international tour, it is magnificently organized in the sumptuous Palazzo Reale, facing the Duomo by the art historian Florence Müller, Director of the Union Française des Arts du Costume, at the Musée d’Arts Décoratifs in Paris .
This true declaration of love for artisanal know-how and Italian culture traces, from the origins in 1985, the creative journey of its founders. In ten sumptuous rooms, visi- tors can admire 200 pieces of haute couture and fine jewelry, all born from their hearts to come to life and form, thanks to the most talented hands of Italian craftsmanship.
To discover this magic of a thousand and one colors, a priest in a cassock very close to Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Monsignor Alberto Rocca, Director of the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, guides guests through the rooms of the Museum on certain days.
Ostentatious, baroque, hand-embroidered and wildly precious clothing embody the- mes dear to the House.
Flowers, leopard prints, religious accessories, rosaries, crucifixes and tiaras strongly evoke Sicily.
