Miró is an artist with many talents who has explored all possibilities and materials. He has used all the natural wealth of his immense talent to the conquest of the lost powers of childhood in order to rediscover the first spark of freshness and enthusiasm. Miró has used paint, pastels, pencils, Indian ink, watercolor, collage, words, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture,
stained glass ... to realize human figures or animals whose forms he has simplified very quickly.
Each time, he retrieves his innocence by tackling an unknown technique, which he masters easily by reinventing
the magic of his soul.
His works fascinate or disconcert by their simplicity and spon- taneity. Their depth is vertiginous like a journey into the infinite, a meeting between the being and the universe, the creature and his Creator, «... a flight to infinity, to the sky, leaving the earth.» Joan Miró.
