The Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris will present, from 17 October 2014 to 22 February 2015, «The colors of abstraction,» the first major Paris retrospective of Sonia Delaunay since 1967.
More than 400 works - paintings, wall hangings, watercolors, prints, fashion and textiles - will be exhibited alongside three exceptional reconstructions of environments. This monograph follows the evolution of the artist from the early twentieth century to the late 1970’s highlighting the importance of her activity in the applied arts, her specific place within the European avant-garde and her major role in the abstraction of which she is among the pioneers.
