The photographs come from the archives Cameraphoto, Venetian agency foun- ded by Dino Jarach in 1946 and were selected by Vittorio Pavan, curator of the archives.
When the fashion designer of Avenue Montaigne arrives in the lagoon city with his eight mannequins and his assistants, he is already known worldwide. His parade and his successive collaboration at the ball with Dalì, Nina Ricci and the young Cardin attract the international jet set.
From 1947, his success was immediate and dazzling thanks to his ability to give form and material to the desires and dreams of a post-war society anxious to forget the restrictions.
