White Stallion Ranch
For those looking for a quiet old west atmosphere in harmony with the nature, the White Stallion Ranch is the place to go. In 1965, the True family bought this Spanish-style ranch surrounded by three rugged mountains, situated just 17 miles away downtown Tucson. This guest ranch is after 3 generations still a family business. The two brothers Michael Russel and their wives are famous for their hospitality to the» tourist cowboy». Russel takes great pride in matching horses with riders, security first. Many films and scenes from television series were filmed on the 3000 acres of this ranch and it has also specialized in purebred Texas longhorn cattle breeding. You may see «Bevo», not just any steer but the Texas Longhorn mascot for the university of Texas Football team when it comes to visit for one night on his way to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Don´t forget to attend to the Saturday rodeo. Riding his horse in front of attentive ranch guests sitting on the wooden grand stands, Russel will give explanations about team roping, barrel racing and old family stories... This place is very respectful of the environment and has an interesting water and electricity policy; just have a look at the huge solar panels on your way out to a ride.
