In her world of roses and hortensias, generous plants along with children, young and older, are running around and the cats are slumbering in the sweetness of Virginie’s sun. Coming from a long line of artists with her aunt, a drawing teacher at the Beaux Arts in Paris, her grandfather, a maker of icons in the Orthodox tradition, her brother, a writer, it was her uncle Roger, artist of life and of the pen, who put the very first oranges on a table that Virginie was to draw.
