A front-row guest of all the Couture Shows, Sheikh Majed Al-Sabah is often asked about his perfumes and their ingredients. In 2009, Tom Ford, with whom he created a strong bond since working on the opening of the Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent Boutiques for Villa Moda, asked him to create a special and exclusive blend for the opening of his own store. For this occasion, Sheikh Majed created an elegant oriental woody fragrance enhanced with precious woods, exotic flowers and spices notes. This unique bouquet was named “Arabian Wood”, and has since become a best seller of the Tom Ford Perfumes Collection.
Very young, Sheikh Majed was initiated by his grandmother, to the clever blends of souk oils with India’s most precious ingredients.
Much as a “Proust’s Madeleine”, rare ingredients of the Gulf region, from the Oudh to the Damascus rose with which she created essences that filled the family home, are the core of the TFK blends.
